Laboratory for Plant Systematic and Phytogeography

Botanical researches are focused on taxonomic analyses of autochthonous flora on the Southern part of Pannonian plain and Balkan Peninsula, monitoring of endemic, relict, rare and endangered species. Anticipated floristic examinations include determination of biogeographic significance and taxonomic status of endangered and potentially endangered autochthonous species. Current investigations of invasive plant species, as factor of biotope usurpation and cause of lower plant gene funds, are carried out through determination of the number of invasive species, stage of their distribution, type of habitats on which they most frequently occur, population density, internal structure, directions of actual and tendencies of their further propagation.
