CBBC has the most extensive collection of hoverflies in south-east Europe of over 80.000 specimens in 420 species collected from more than 1.000 localities throughout the Balkan Peninsula. There is type-material from 25 species described from the Balkan Peninsula. Part of collection with material out of Balkan Peninsula contains 80 additional Palaearctic species.
This collection provides an invaluable resource for ongoing research.
